Visual Arts

This year the Visual Arts morning major has 21 students, only 3 being boys. After being shown the many possibilities through their teachers work, they are now exploring different materials and developing their own styles. They start the day with perspectives and then go on to exploring new types of art. The goal of the major is to experiment with new art forms and express themselves through it. They had planned to go to an area near Bishop Arts District, Anna N., a GA, then noted, “It’s all under water, so we might not get to.” Although their field trip may not work out, the class will still have the DECATS Art Contest, which is an open contest for all scholars, during week 3 of DECATS. This is then followed by the Visual Arts’ Open House Art Show, the main event. Until then, they will be working on their display pieces and having fun.
